When you come to NENA 2009 you will not only hear about the public safety issues of the present and the future, but you will learn how these topics are all related and interconnected. Experts in the field will provide you with the knowledge you need in a focused and highly interactive atmosphere. Through acclaimed keynote speakers and general sessions, in more than eighty educational track sessions, and while browsing the aisles of our Exhibit Hall, you will see and hear the latest advances from all corners of our ever-evolving industry.
At NENA 2009, each day’s agenda – from open to close – will be built around a specific topic area, with supporting sessions aimed at providing you with the most up-to-date and useful information possible. This new, targeted approach is designed to give you a deep understanding of the critical issues facing emergency communications and the skills you need to address them.
One focal point of NENA 2009 will be emergency communications technology. As a 9-1-1 professional, you have seen just how far technology has come in the past few years, and NENA 2009 is where these issues will converge. You will hear from leading
authorities in both the public and private sectors on various technologies, devices, and systems, as well as how they relate to every employee in the PSAP and overall communications center operations. Of course, throughout the conference pecial attention will be paid to Next Generation 9-1-1. NENA has become known as a leader on NG9-1-1 issues, and at NENA 2009 you will see how this new wave of technology is going to affect you, your PSAP, and the public you protect. Additionally, you will get status updates on NENA’s involvement in Next Generation 9-1-1 projects and learn what you can do to help make this vision a reality in your community.
NENA 2009 also will spotlight 9-1-1 public policy. You will hear from federal, state, and local government leaders, as well as 9-1-1 professionals, on current issues in Washington, statehouses, and town halls nationwide. You will be given the tools you need to navigate the legislative and regulatory processes and ensure that 9-1-1 has the funding and governmental support that it needs to maintain service today and adapt for the advances of tomorrow.
